1. Who we are

SportEd is a Kenyan sports marketplace connecting athletes with coaches, academies, clubs, physiotherapists and other sports service providers. You can reach us at hello@sported.co.ke or +254722790420.

2. What we collect

• Account details you give us: name, email address, phone number and gender.
• Profile details: sport, level, goals and location (county, constituency, ward, village).
• Coach credentials you upload: certificates, CVs, photos and videos.
• Booking, subscription and advertising records, including M-Pesa transaction references.
• Messages you exchange with other users on the platform.

3. How we use it

To create and secure your account, match athletes with coaches, process payments and payouts, send booking confirmations by SMS and email, display public coach profiles and paid adverts, and to answer support requests.

4. Payments

Payments are processed through Safaricom M-Pesa. We store the transaction amount, receipt number and paying phone number so bookings and adverts can be reconciled. We never see or store your M-Pesa PIN.

5. Who we share data with

Only with the parties needed to run the service: the coach or athlete on the other side of a booking, Safaricom (M-Pesa), our SMS provider (Africa's Talking) and our hosting and database provider. We do not sell your personal data.

6. Your rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to certain processing. Email hello@sported.co.ke and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Retention & security

We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and for as long afterwards as Kenyan tax and accounting rules require. Access to data is restricted by row-level database rules so users can only reach their own records.

8. Cookies

We use only the storage needed to keep you signed in. We do not run third-party advertising trackers; adverts on this site are booked directly through us.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced on this page.
