Obstacle Course Racing

Ever wondered what it would feel like to climb, swing, jump, balance, crawl and race your way through a challenge? Obstacle Sports is a fun and active form of sport where people navigate a series of physical obstacles that test movement, coordination, strength, balance, agility and endurance. You don't have to be an elite athlete to start—obstacle sports can be adapted for different ages, abilities and fitness levels.
There are many ways to experience obstacle sports. Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) combines running with challenges such as walls, ropes, crawls, carries and climbing. Ninja-style obstacle sports focus on swinging, gripping, balancing, jumping and moving creatively through obstacles. Adventure-based activities can combine obstacles with outdoor terrain, endurance and exploration. More recently, obstacle sport has also developed into an organized international competition format through the UIPM, including a sequence of eight obstacles such as Steps, Big Wheel, Rings, Wheels, Balance Beam, Monkey Bars and a Finish Wall.
The great thing about obstacle sports is that you can start where you are. Your first session might simply involve learning how to climb a wall, cross a balance beam or swing from one obstacle to another. As you practice, you can gradually build confidence, technique and fitness. What initially looks difficult can become surprisingly achievable—and every obstacle gives you another opportunity to challenge yourself.
